In 2019, Indiana lost 125 veterans to suicide In Hendricks County alone, eight veterans died by suicide in 2019, making up 50% of suicides in our community. Over 60% are not connected to care. Indiana Veteran Suicide Data Sheet (va.gov) Mental Health America of Hendricks County is currently working to address this crisis by expanding our social club program to add two monthly Fridays for veterans to combat loneliness and isolation while providing integrative health and human services to meet their needs while giving back to our military community. We cant do this work alone. We need your support at our first annual luncheon. On Veterans Day, MHAHC will host our first annual Veterans Day Luncheon at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. This luncheon will feature an open networking and coffee experience, an expert panel followed by a keynote speaker with lived experience. To close the event, we will host a desert auction with awards to a Veteran Community Hero.
