The City of Waukegan and Mayor Ann Taylor invite you and colleagues from your nonprofit organization to participate in two nonprofit leadership sessions: - Fundraising in a Competitive Environment (October 13, 2022) - Building Your Brand (November 10,2022) These programs will be held at the Waukegan City Council room from 8:30am-12noon and include networking, academic content provided by the Kellogg School Center for Nonprofit Management faculty, discussions and applications of the learning to your individual leadership situation. This unique learning opportunity is free to the nonprofit community of Waukegan thanks to the support of Mayor Ann Taylor and the City of Waukegan. All participants must register in advance at: INSERT LINK. Registration will be on a first come first serve basis with a limit of 60 participants per session. Topic Descriptions: Fundraising in a Competitive Environment To remain competitive in today’s world, nonprofit organizations need to be innovative in identifying their donors, creative in their outreach, consistent in their stewardship. This requires engaging donors where they are and building a strong case for support for restricted and unrestricted giving. This session will share best practices and frameworks and the opportunity for group discussion of successful fundraising activities. Building Your Brand Being able to understand and communicate your brand effectively is essential for leaders to be able to promote their organizations. In this session, participants will be exposed to a dynamic view of competitive brand strategy. The session will focus on understanding, developing and evaluating brand strategies and provide a framework for developing marketing strategies that yield a distinctive competitive advantage based on better understanding of donors and competitors.
