Please register to attend our 35 Year High School Reunion. Events are planned to be casual to allow the maximum amount of personal interaction. Attendees may come and go as they wish throughout the weekend events. This schedule is in flux but is currently planned as below. REUNION PLANNED EVENT SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY, 10/28Friday, October 28, 6:00pm: EHS vs. Midlothian football game Leo Buckley Stadium, 500 North 38th Street, Killeen, TX 76543 No Parking Fees. No Tailgating Allowed. No Outside Food or Drinks Allowed. You will be on your own for any purchase of food or drinks from the concession stand as you choose. As a reminder, these funds typically go to support programs at the high school. Limited tickets are available for this event. Tickets have been reserved in a block so we can all sit together in our old stompin' grounds.Check-In will be in the parking lot between 6:00pm – 7:00pm.Look for balloons near black Jeep Grand Cherokee. Additional tickets may be purchased on your own outside the block through the school district general admission procedures as seating allows. LOCATION - Saturday, October 29, AND Sunday, October 30: TARA FARMS, KILLEEN All events on Saturday (10/29) and Sunday (10/30) will take place at Tara Farms in Killeen, TX. This venue is owned by Ann Farris who was one of the first Assistant Principals at EHS when it first opened. She has been asked to attend as a special guest to reminisce with us. We will specifically be located in the Farris Wheel (red event hall). The address is 13682 Maxdale Road, Killeen, TX 76549. LODGING on Saturday, October 29th: To reduce costs, everyone is welcome to bring pillows, sleeping bags, blow up mattresses, cots, hammocks, blankets, tents, etc., to stay on-site overnight. Please note that there are restrooms available but no shower facilities. We will not have the site on Friday night so you should make other arrangements for lodging on Friday, October 28, if you are attending the Friday night football game. REUNION PLANNED EVENT SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY, 10/29Saturday, October 29, 8:00am: Reunion Set Up Everyone is welcome to attend the event set up. We will be responsible for setting up all tables, chairs, and any decorations. Information on Rules of Engagement for attendance and decoration are included below. Saturday, October 29, 10:00am: Emeralds Self-Care Stretch (Hosted by Wendy Watkins Boggs and Patti Dore Prewitt) Everyone is welcome to attend. No judgement is allowed at this event...particularly for the hosts. =-) Saturday, October 29, 11:00am: Game Time! BYOB and BYO Snacks to share. Blender and Limited Ice will be provided by the event coordinator. Feel free to bring additional items to contribute. - Football Viewing: We will attempt to stream NCAA football throughout the day. One TV and streaming device will be provided by the event coordinator. The games scheduled for that weekend all have TBD times listed on the NCAA website but include: Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State; Kentucky vs. Tennessee (This should be a GOOD game!); Cincinnati vs. UCF; Oregon vs. Cali; USC vs. Arizona; Michigan St vs. Michigan (great rivalry game!); Ole Miss vs. Aggies; Wake Forest vs. Louisville; Notre Dame vs.Syracuse; Stanford vs. UCLA; Ohio State vs. Penn State (This should be a GOOD game!); TCU vs. West Virginia; and Florida vs. Georgia. Wear your favorite college football gear. - Game Options: The following games will be provided by the event coordinator: Chess, Checkers, Jenga, Black Jack Game Set, Rummikub, Yahtzee, a Poker Set, Parcheesi, Uno, Phase 10, and Dominoes. Feel free to contribute your own. - Sports Game Options: The following items will be provided by the event coordinator: Corn hole, Ringer Darts Toss Game, Hook 21 Ring Swing Game, a Football, a Soccer ball, Bocce ball. Does anyone have horseshoes? If so, please contact the event coordinator via email at [email protected] . - Non-competitive options: There will be 80's movies available for watching and chit chat during this time as well. Saturday, October 29, 2:00pm (Central Time) Let's ZOOM!! For classmates who are unable to join us in person but would love to see former friends, we will attempt a zoom meeting. There is no charge for this event but please register for the FREE ticket so we can anticipate attendees and let reunion participants know who will join us. More information/instructions will be coming on the meeting number and passcode. Saturday, October 29, 5:00pm Costume Party Get in the Halloween spirit and join dressed in your best Halloween gear and make up. Please note that costumes are optional. If you are not comfortable, please still join the festivities as yourself. Saturday, October 29, 5:30pm Talent Show or Karaoke projected here along with the costume party. Event Coordinator has not decided which yet or may be a combination. Does anyone have a karaoke machine? If so, please contact the event coordinator via email at [email protected] . Saturday, October 29, 5:30pm Cocktail Hour - BYOB!! Projected to be concurrent with costume party and talent show and/or karaoke. Saturday, October 29, 6:30pm Dinner, Dessert, Discussions, and Details Catering provided by Urban Cowboy Catering. Check out their website for yourself: https://www.urbancowboyfood.com/index.html. This will be a staffed buffet event. Complete menus are still to be confirmed but are currently committed for the following items: Salad, Sriracha fried chicken bites, Mushroom pork chop, Beef tenderloin, Truffle mac & cheese, Desserts, Tea, and Water. This event site will be updated with more information as it is determined and confirmed. Additional vegetarian options (veggies and pastas) will be provided by event coordinator. Saturday, October 29, 8:00pm - 8:30pm Change of venue break down & set up. All hands on deck! Saturday, October 29, 8:30pm - 10:00pm Dancing This event will provide combinations of mostly 80's songs allowing for slow couples dancing, Monster Mashes, Line Dancing, and Group Dancing (Think...Cotton-Eyed Joe and Shout by the Isley Brothers). Individual dancing as the music moves you is highly encouraged. Saturday, October 29, 10:00pm An 80's Scary Movie Presentation Choice to be determined. Popcorn will be provided by Event Coordinator. This will be the last planned event for the day. ======================================= REUNION PLANNED EVENT SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY, 10/30Sunday, October 30, 8:30am-ISH Build Your Own Breakfast Event coordinator will provide a limited supply of pancake batter, syrup, bacon, eggs, hash browns, bread, jelly, tortillas, picante, spices, grills, a hot plate, a toaster oven, a coffee pot, coffee filters, and basic container of ground coffee. You are welcome to bring/contribute your own breakfast favorites and coffee condiments. The event coordinator will compile a binder of information from all classmates willing to complete the information page (to be created soon). In-Memoriam The event coordinator will create a memory board of classmates who are no longer with us. If you know of our passed Class of 1987 loved ones, please send names along to [email protected] . Event coordinator will post known names below as reported. Known members list: Clarence Brown, Army Col. Michael Cobb, Memory Ingram, Blake Jackson. Philanthropy Please bring at least 2 canned goods or boxed/packaged pastas and/or a HEB gift card for donation to the Food Care Center of Killeen. Here is their website: http://www.foodcare.org/ . Let's give back to the community who raised us and support those in need. A collection area will be available. The event coordinator will ensure delivery to the Food Care Center of Killeen. SCHOLARSHIPS If you are a former 1987 classmate and would love to attend but cannot afford the entire registration fee, please contact [email protected] for possible assistance. To be fair, these will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and availability will vary based on the generosity of your classmates. Classmates will be expected to pay a minimum of $25 out of pocket on their own. Scholarships will be limited to classmates only. Significant others will need to purchase a full price ticket. If you are a financially blessed classmate and wish to provide scholarship funds ($5, $10, $25, or a full payment) for your former classmates needing assistance in order to join us, please plan to pay that scholarship amount through Venmo to @Wendy-Boggs-9, and email [email protected] to confirm that information. If you would like to pay the full amount for a specific classmate, please submit the payment through Venmo to @Wendy-Boggs-9, and email [email protected] to confirm that information. You should also cc the classmate on the email. Any unused scholarship funds will be used to purchase HEB gift cards to contribute to the Killeen area food bank. (Our philanthropy project for this reunion.) Favorite Teachers and Administrators Please pass reunion information along and invite your favorite teachers and administrators to join us. If they plan to join for the catered meals, they should register for the event so the event coordinator can have an accurate food count. A reduced plate charge will apply and scholarship money will be used to cover the remainder of their dinner cost. Otherwise, there will be no charge for them to join us during other free events or the zoom meetings. If you are a financially blessed classmate and wish to provide scholarship funds ($5, $10, $25, or a full payment) for your former teacher/administrator's meal ticket, please have them register for the FREE ticket, pay that scholarship amount through Venmo to @Wendy-Boggs-9, and then submit that information via email to [email protected] . WHAT SHOULD I BRING? (REMINDER PACKING LIST) Canned Goods or HEB gift cards, Camping/Sleeping supplies, sports equipment, snacks, blenders, ice...list to be continued. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT FOR TARA FARMS RENTAL All event participants must protect the dance floor. It is acceptable to place tables and chairs on it. It is not acceptable to drag anything across the floor or to roll the carts for tables and chairs across the dance floor. Tara Farms, including the Farris Wheel, is tobacco free. Please make sure that all event participants know that smoking is prohibited except in one designated area. The designated area is on the outside patio, away from windows, doors, and other living things. Pets must not be brought on the premises. Tara Farms is a deer breeding facility and deer must be protected. Please do not adjust the temperature in the Farris Wheel venue. If you are not comfortable, please just let the event coordinator know. It is the event participants responsibility to set up tables and chairs as well as to wipe them off at the end of the event and put them away. No harming deer, antelope, or turkeys.
