Description

Rodman/Instrumentman (will train): Duties include working outside on a 2-man or 3-man field crew, loading truck at office for 7:00 a.m. departure. Assist other crew members with duties such as: carrying sensitive GPS equipment, setting up equipment, holding prism pole for locating improvements and elevations. Work sometimes includes cutting line with a machete, hammering stakes into the ground, going over fences and other barriers, following instructions and walking. Small boats are used for water surveys. Quad-type vehicles are used for large topographic surveys. Setting up traffic cones and warning signs. Using metal detector to find buried survey points, digging and uncovering objects to use for survey. Returning to office generally by 3:30 and unloading equipment from truck. Pay Rate: $15-$18/hr.
