Are you a degreed music major looking to teach outside of your college? The Federal Way School of Music is expanding and looking for people like you to join our team! For over 10 years, the Federal Way School of Music has been one of the Puget Sound's most trusted sources for music education! We are a private locally-owned music school comprised of credentialed and experienced music professionals. Our instructors range from active international touring rock artists to soloists with local area symphonies. We are all focused on inspiring the next generation of musicians with a quality musical education! Above all, we attract high-level instructors because we value their talents and have excellent opportunities for instructors at our school. This is a contract position that is competitive, flexible, and fair for serious instructors, as opposed to in-home lesson organizations, online lesson databases, retail stores who advertise they are "schools", and isolated home-based teaching studios. Our teachers have paid vacation! We are currently looking for more instructors for the instruments below. Doubling on more than one instrument, knowing varied musical styles, and being fluent in different languages is a bonus for applicants! * Violin (specializing in Suzuki and early childhood music education ages 6 under, eurythmics, group class programs) * Cello (familiar with advanced classical repertoire like above. Familiarity with rock, jazz,folk, metal, etc is a plus!) * Acoustic Stand up Bass (orchestral, jazz) * Piano (Suzuki or early childhood ages 3-6) * Guitar (Classic Rock, Blues, Fingerstyle, Country) * Voice (Classical and Contemporary vocal styles) * Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone, Tuba) Important criteria for applicants: * Professional music industry experience (prior experience running your own business), degreed students recently graduated are also welcome * A degree or certification in music or equivalent professional experience (i.e., touring, signed band, recording artist, etc) * Familiarity with grade school band, orchestra, choir, and jazz programs and college music entry preparation * Prior experience in maintaining a professional lesson studio business and teaching * Reading standard music notation * Enjoys inspiring kids and working with diverse people with varied backgrounds * Focused on organization, cleanliness, and timely responsiveness over email/text * Easy to work with an having a positive and likable attitude!
