Do you want to train to be a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)? The first step is to successfully complete the Nurse Assistant / CNA Training Program. This 120-hour course includes 50 hours online using the American Red Cross curriculum, 30 hours in the skills lab at Moon River Nursing Careers in Ashburn, VA and 40 hours working with patients at a local nursing home. Moon River Nursing Careers is now enrolling students for the OCTOBER Nurse Assistant training: - Weekend Course starts OCTOBER 15 - Weekday Course starts OCTOBER 17 - Accelerated Weekday Course starts OCTOBER 24 Nurse Aide training is the first step to becoming a health care professional if you want to work in a hospital or long-term care facility. It also provides valuable patient care experience for college students applying to Nursing school, Physician Assistant (PA) school or Medical School. This is the pre-requisite to take the Board of Nursing exam to become a CNA. There are many job opportunities for a CNA to work in hospitals, assisted living communities, nursing homes, memory care, Hospice, clinics, or home care. A Nurse Aide: - Assists with activities of daily living in a healthcare facility under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. - Takes vital signs, assists with bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, and mobility. - Monitors for changes in patient status and reports to a supervising nurse.
