Construction Laborer performs general construction labor at the job site on a part-time, as-needed basis. No experience is necessary; however, applicants must have the following attributes:
- Reliable: Show up when you say you will and stay till the job is done
- Hard working: Work hard till the job is done
- Safe: Work safely and be careful with tools and equipment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Move material and equipment around the site
- Clean-up and prepare construction sites for next phase
- Minor construction work such as paint touch ups, installing temporary protection, etc.
- Cover/uncover ground, concrete forms and concrete with blankets and secure blankets from wind, damage from forms, rebar, etc.
- Layout/rewind heater hose to heat ground or cure concrete
- Tent/tarp/blanket areas required to be protected from snow
- Work safely and notify Superintendent if unsafe conditions exist
- Avoid damaging tools and equipment and put tools back at end of workday
- Other duties as assigned by Site Superintendent or Construction Manager
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and personal integrity
- Reliable with flexible schedule including availability mornings, evenings and occasional weekends
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – very occasionally up to 70 pounds. Traverse rough ground on construction sites. Ability to move around in tight, enclosed spaces
- Ability to perform manual labor in harsh, winter environments for up to 8 hours at a time
- Transportation to and from site preferred
Compensation:
- $18 per hour, at-will, FSLA non-exempt part-time position
- Hours worked depend on job performance, weather conditions and NN labor needs
- Opportunity for raises based on experience and performance
