We have a beautiful 10 year old mare pony available. Her name is Buttercup. She is about 12 hands and a super sweet girl. My got her for my daughter 4 years ago and now my daughter is ready for a full sized horse. She is broke and rides bare back or with a western saddle on. We have never tried English with her. She has done a bit and bridle a handful of times with us, but need someone on her back who knows how to steer. Most of the riding we have done has been younger kids on her back and me leading her with the lead rope. She’s got a good temperament, but has bucked a couple of times, usually because an adult or someone too heavy was on her back. Doesn’t bite or rear up. She has never foundered or had collic since we have gotten her, she is pretty good at maintaining a good weight. She does great for our farrier and is great around my kids. She definitely has more whoa then go. She will walk around in circles all day for you, but it’s a little tricky to get her to trot. I have done it a few times, but used a hill to get her momentum going. I have not cantered on her back, but have seen her do it in the pasture. I am sure if she had the right training she would lope for you. We have not worked with her too much on this, since my kids are learning to ride we have just done mostly walking with her and a little bit of trotting. She is up-to-date on her shots and de-worming, she will probably be due in the next few months to have her teeth floated again. We would consider a trade for a full size horse horse that is sound. Mostly, we are selling as she just doesn’t get ridden that often and my kids that ride are outgrowing her and ready for a big horse. Also, she has had one baby. She had a beautiful white and gray baby when we purchased her. We sold the baby once she was weened because we knew we wouldn’t have the time or know how to break and train her.
