Cuddly Dog Needing New Home

Hello! We have a wonderful dog who is needing a new home. His name is Herbie. He's calm, cuddly, SUPER affectionate and friendly, good with kids and babies as well. (He sometimes struggles with trusting teenage boys and men). He doesn't run away, he loves to go out front to sniff around a few houses and come right back! We often take him on hikes and walks! He's a good companion for such things, though he does pull on the leash. We've had him for 5.5 years, since Feb 2017. He is 6.5 years old, born April 2016. He really, really loves to be loved, so be prepared to spend time petting, cuddling, and generally spending time with him! He is protective and will bark at mailmen and other people who come to the door, but it only lasts 10 seconds or so! He is fixed, and has vet records, also microchipped. He is a mutt and as such he does require some grooming. We take him to the groomer to cut his hair very short every 4 months, otherwise the two different kinds of coats he has begin to mat with one another. This costs us about $55 each time. You could do this yourself, it just takes 4 hours or so! :) Our family enjoys him but my husband grew up without any pets. Having a dog around unfortunately really stresses him. As we are in a stressful season of life anyway, I am hoping to reduce his load in whatever way I can, and it would help him to not have a dog. If you feel you could be a good family for Herbie, please let me know! We are asking a $180 rehoming fee. He comes with all of his supplies - bed, food and treats, multiple leashes, collar and tags, paperwork, etc.
