The Roof Technician Assistant is responsible for helping the Senior Repair Technician while completing repairs for existing customers and repair contracts. During every job they will aid in efficiently completing repairs, evaluating the roof system and clean up. Responsibilities: Visit project sites at appointed times with Senior Repair Technician to conduct a thorough investigation of the existing roof and site conditions. Locate any existing or potential problems with the roofing system. Complete repairs on site as needed. If not able to do repairs on site, assist with diagnosing and documenting the issue(s) and the best way to move forward. Complete a detailed report with photographs of the current site conditions to be used by the estimators to produce a proposal/repair plan for the customer. The report will consist of: o Access to the building/roof. o Evaluation of the existing metal flashings. o Note damage to the interior and exterior of the building. o Listing of the roof penetrations and issues. o Evaluate the roof system and make recommendations for repairs. · Assist Operations with various tasks such as, but not limited to, loading materials in trucks and inventory control. · Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements · At least 18 years of age · Knowledge of roofing systems optional · Roofing and/or general construction experience optional · Valid driver’s license with a good driving record for at least five years · Ability to work safely at heights above six feet · Strong math and technical skills for various calculations · Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of assigned work · Ability to work independently and with minimal management · Strong time management and organization skills · Excellent communication, note taking, and listening skills Physical Activities & Environmental Conditions · Regular repetitive motions including the wrists, hands and/or fingers · Regular exposure to environmental conditions such as low/high temperatures, noisy environments, hazardous conditions, small and/or enclosed spaces, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind · Required to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc. · Required to drive for business purposes Top 4 Responsibilities 1. Complete accurate, detailed roof surveys so that Repair Operations has all of the information needed to successfully estimate and manage a project. 2. Maintain roof survey information in the “Company Cam” so Repair operations can access it. 3. Assess and repair any issues with the roofing system in a timely manner. 4. Communicate with the repair coordinator and the customer effectively. Top 5 Competencies 1. Ability to work independently 2. High organizational skills 3.
