Hello all! Gig ready band ISO 2nd guitarist for *very* big possible show coming up in February (don't intend to be ambiguous about the details as they're still being finalized, but it's a very big possibility for a very big band). We're a progressive metalcore project with 4 members based out of the Whippany area (where we practice). Would prefer to find somebody closer to like Butler, NJ or anywhere in between those areas (like 30 minute radius from that area) but willing to work with the right person. It just makes setting schedules easier if we're closer. Project influences include: Periphery, Veil of Maya, Protest the Hero, Killswitch Engage, Opeth, Born of Osiris, The Human Abstract, and a dash of iwrestledabearonce. We're looking to play some cool music with solid rhythms, big melodic parts, and plenty of nasty breakdowns. If any of this sounds like it's in your wheelhouse, please feel free to reach out! Auditions can be held either at the studio in Whippany or at my small studio near Butler, NJ. We're looking for someone who can come in, learn about 5 songs (plus 1 cover) in the span of about 2 months. We need to be mostly ready by like end of December latest to have a chance at this, so you need to be a quick learner. The first 5 originals are written and finished already, but you'd have complete freedom to play what you'd like that helps make the songs sound better. After that though, the music we'd move forward with would be a combination of everyone's ideas. So if you have original material of your own, you'd absolutely be welcome to share it. This is a total democracy, everybody's ideas and thoughts are welcomed and encouraged. We're not playing anything too "insane", but a fairly high degree of technical ability will be required for this role. Anyway, samples available on request. I'd just like to hear from people who have read the ad and understand the situation to help make sure everyone is clear on expectations, etc. This is a VERY fun project, everybody is super chill, no drama, and no BS.
