Join Jillian from Nest in Progress as you learn how to use ice and powdered dye to create a beautifully dyed piece! She will walk you through the dyeing process, allowing you to choose your unique color combinations to create a one of a kind design.
For this class you can bring your own item to dye, or purchase a blank cardigan, scarf or silk pillowcase to dye.
If you choose to bring your own item, make sure it is made of natural fibers! Cotton, rayon, and silk work best, and if it's blended with synthetic fibers it must be majority natural fibers. The ice dye process does not work with 100% synthetic fabric. Your item should be the size of a t-shirt or blouse for it to be dyed within the time frame of the class.
The following items are available to purchase for this workshop as well:
-Rayon cocoon cardigan: Made of lightweight 100% rayon, fits up to size XL
-Velvet scarf: Super soft silk/rayon blend. A great accessory for chilly days!
-Silk pillowcase: 100% silk, standard queen size, 20" x 29.5", slip-on style (no closure)
Cost for class with your own item: $40
Cost for class when purchasing an item to dye: $65
The hardest part of this process is waiting for the ice to melt! Enjoy sips and sweets and shopping while you wait. Once the ice is melted you will be able to rinse out your piece and see your one-of-a-kind results!
