The University of North Texas College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences invites you to its inaugural The McCrady Annual Lecture on Belief Speakers Series.
Keynote speaker Gordon Pennycook will share his findings on Understanding reasoning errors: From fake news to climate change and beyond. Gordon is an Associate Professor of Behavioural Science at the University of Regina’s Hill/Levene Schools of Business. He is also an Associate Member of the Department of Psychology. In July 2023, he will be moving to the Psychology Department at Cornell University.
His research focus is on reasoning and decision-making, broadly defined. I investigate the distinction between intuitive processes (“gut feelings”) and more deliberative (“analytic”) reasoning processes and am principally interested in the causes (a) and consequences (b) of analytic thinking.
Attendees can attend the event at the Lyceum Theatre. The event is free and open to the public. Interested parties that are not able to attend the in-person event, can watch the webinar live: unt.zoom.us/j/87693102834
