Join the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of brilliant Baroque music, as we perform works by Bach, Handel, and Telemann in the splendid acoustics of the Faith United Methodist Church Sanctuary. CUSO conductor and Baroque specialist Stephen Alltop will perform Bach’s awe-inspiring Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on FUMC’s magnificent organ. The program includes several works by Handel and Telemann’s Water Music, a sparkling a dance suite portraying aquatic gods of mythology. We are excited to perform a new work by CUSO's former composer-in-residence Stacy Garrop, Spectacle of Light, which draws its inspiration from the final work on the program, Handel’s thrilling Music for the Royal Fireworks.
