All-Ages Spooktacular Drag Show at the Varsity

When it comes to Halloween entertainment, there’s a lot to choose from, but you will definitely want to put the Varsity’s all-ages variety drag show on your list of things to do. So, add Spooktacular ’22 to your calendar for Friday, Oct. 21. This month’s show features lip-sync performances, comedy and dancing. Along with the regular trivia and interactive contests and prizes, patrons are encouraged to dress up and participate in costume contests. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. Doors and the Varsity Bar open at 6. Join emcee and performer Blanche DuBois, the Godmother of drag in Southern Illinois. Performers include Jodie Santana, Faim Lee Jewls, Leiyana Santana, Ceduxion Carrington and Holly Haliwell. Christina Garnette will be the evening’s hostess and will also perform a number. This is an all-ages show, and the venue welcomes young people; however, the show can be on the risqué side, and those 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for students with ID. They are available in advance here at Eventbrite. Tickets are not available in advance at the venue but will be available on the night of the show. Come early and enjoy special cocktails at the bar in the company of Christina and the Varsity staff.
