Quiet Explosions: Healing the Brain has qualified for Oscar® consideration for Best Documentary Feature and Music Score by Omri Lahav. It showcases the personal journeys of a cross-section of society which has suffered from Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD, and the pioneering doctors who use innovative methods to treat this devastating illness that affects millions worldwide. This amazing behind-the-scenes documentary explores the ground-breaking therapies to help scarred and wounded veterans, first responders, professional athletes and ordinary people to heal the human brain.
Along with Green Beret Andrew Marr, and Apache Pilot Adam Marr, Co-Founders of the Warrior Angels Foundation, the film features U.S. Marine Ben Driebergen and CBS “Survivor” winner season 35; Mark Rypien, Super Bowl XXVI MVP; Anthony Davis, infamous Notre Dame Killer, running back from USC; and big wave world champion Pro Surfer, Shawn Dollar. Popular Radio and Podcast Host Joe Rogan adds his trademark stamp to this award-winning documentary.
QUIET EXPLOSIONS: Healing the Brain recently received The Impact Award for BEST IMPACT DOCUMENTARY FEATURE BY TMIF (The Most Important Film of the Year 2021); and AOF (Action On Film International Film Festival) selected the film as Best Documentary Feature and Best Director at MegaFest in Las Vegas. To date the film has garnered 13 documentary and humanitarian awards, including three Platinium Awards at the International Independent Film Awards for Best Directing, Best Documentary Feature and Best Original Score.
There will be a Q & A after the 99-minute film with Director Jerri Sher, GDVS Commissioner Trish Ross, and Dr. Brian Moore, Director of the Center for the Advancement of Military and Emergency (AMES) Research Center at Kennesaw State.
