Description
A local progressive rock band originally formed in 2014 is reforming. The first two recordings were released in 2015, followed by another in 2016-2017, and the most recent album—the first released solely as a studio project by the bandleader—came out in late-2020. The songwriting process for a new release has begun in earnest, and a power trio or quartet with keys is desired.
The music ranges from lighter, Pink Floydish material to QOTSA to Steven Wilson, and borders on heavier prog metal-type stuff at times. Odd meters abound, so players/sidemen(women?) with some chops are needed. Backup vocals especially with higher register capabilities would be great.
Ideally a bass player who can imply chord voicings with a little (or sometimes a lot) of grit and a drummer who would be comfortable playing both jazz and metal would round out the group. A keys player who likes a really dirty Rhodes/wurly sound and organ, mellotron, mellow synth sounds, etc. would be a bonus.
Let’s do this!
