Description
I bought Copper this past January to have a buddy for my apartment and to do outdoor activities. Unfortunately, he gets car sick or drools to the point of it being like a faucet (yes, it's really gross so I put a reusable puppy pad on the seat). Poor guy can't help it though. Therefore, I have leave him at home a lot. Cavaliers are supposed to be mostly snuggle dogs – not Copper. You can pet and rub him all over all day (and you’ll want to because he’s so soft) – I got him used to that – but don’t try to hold him or kiss his face – even though he’s so darn cute! Then there's his energy level - could and would wear out the energizer bunny - I'm not kidding. This kid has NO off switch!! He's not afraid of any other dogs and will run and play and run and play all day and all night. Your dog will look at you like "please turn him off!!!!!!" (should you have a dog). I have family members who can testify to this truth. He will play tug of war until your arm falls off and then wants to keep going all the while looking at you and tossing toys in your lap saying, "let's go!" He has never seen a cat, but I believe he will simply want to play if he's brave enough to approach him/her. He knows to use the reusable puppy pads in the apartment as I wasn’t going to try and teach him that “hey, you can’t just pop a squat whenever you have to potty” as he was used to in the pet store in the middle of winter, so I never really “housetrained” him as the pads were convenient. He does love to go for a walk and will water everything and anything and poop towards the beginning of the walk. He’s not good if I take him to my sister’s or my daughter’s even if I bring the pad with me. He believes he’s the only living thing in the universe when you’re walking him, and you only exist if he finally gets annoyed to turn around to look and see why he can’t go any further. Then it’s like “oh, it’s you” and then you disappear – again. So, some additional leash training would help. Dog’s nuts. He is neutered and will come with everything I have so you won’t have to go out and buy anything even if you don’t currently have a dog: food, toys, leashes, potty bags, treat training pouch, large cage (Petland was out of small dog stuff when I bought him so they gave me a large cage), bed, bones, reusable puppy pads (just wash and hang ‘em to dry – they’re great!), flea/tick/heartworm medications, oatmeal shampoo, shampoo holder/massager, and a stand-up tub to wash him in (TOTAL back saver), nail cutter & grinder. I do take him to Rochelle at PetSmart in Grove City once a month for grooming (she's awesome & does a GREAT job on him). He allows me to cut and grind his nails, so I don't have it done there. I believe in viewing an animal in its own environment so his natural behavior can be observed. Therefore, please know that you will come to my apartment to meet him and see if he would be a fit for your home/life. Feel free to give me a call. There will be absolutely no pressure whatsoever – either on the phone or during the home visit. Asking $500.00. Cash Only.
