SPM Development LLC is looking for a lead carpenter and carpenter with 5 plus years of experience in residential construction and renovation to work on jobs in Metrowest and greater Boston area. Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs framing, rough carpentry and finish work with wood, composite materials, and other products. - Before demolition ensure surfaces are protected as required. - Strip exterior and interior finishes. - Demolish existing structures. - Accurately frame floors, walls, decks, and roofs according to construction documents and contract. - Ensure rough openings are framed to correct sizes and are square. - Install windows and exterior doors, including proper weather protection. - Install siding, roofing, exterior trim, and all associated underlay materials and weather protection. - Install decking, including proper weather protection. -Verify all rough carpentry is acceptable for finish work - Install interior trim including baseboard, window and door casing, crown moulding, and specialty trim such as wainscoting and paneling. - Install all finish components of stairs including treads, risers, skirts, newel posts, rails, and balusters. - Hang interior doors and install hardware. - Install kitchen cabinets, vanities, and household accessories. - Construct custom built-ins and cabinets. - Install all components of dropped ceilings. - Install decking and railings. - Install exterior trim including window and door trim, corner boards, fascias, rakes, soffits, friezes, and skirts. - Ensure building codes are met. - Generate material lists daily, for materials to be on site in a timely manor. Skills: -Detailed knowledge of building materials, methods, and codes - Detailed knowledge of rough and finish carpentry - Ability to communicate constructively with homeowners and contractors - Ability to use co-construct software with every job - Organization/high cleanliness standards - Attention to detail Salary: competitive wages $21-$35 depending on experience.
