URGENT | Deliver food to students in need

We're urgently looking to bring on as many as 10 volunteer delivery drivers to keep up with increased demand. Sign up to deliver food to kids who need it. Use your own car, fill it with food and bring that to one or more schools. Backpack Brigade drivers deliver bags of 7 meals from our warehouse to one or more of the 84 K-12 schools we partner with. Feel the wind in your hair, put on KEXP, and make a direct impact with that minivan you never drive. Our mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to schools, we feed nearly 3,000 unhoused students per week to help them feel full from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast without a single growl. We have routes to Renton, Laurelhurst, Bellevue, and everywhere in between. We will work with you to assign you a school close to your home. Drivers arrive between 8:30 and 10:30 am each Thursday, grab a clipboard with their assigned school, pour a cup of coffee, and head out. You'll then return with the empty milk crates we store our food bags in. Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo, Filson, and Krispy Kreme on 1st Avenue South Seattle. Please consider becoming a weekly driver for Backpack Brigade. With recent expansions into new districts, we are at our limit and don’t have the heart to turn anyone away.
