Description
I am concerned there seems to a very real potential for lead contamination at a site where work was recently done. The federal regulation prohibiting lead in paint, was signed into law '78, to my information, which easily post-dates the construction completion date for the building.
Paint chips were strewn about the site, which I did my best to pick up and isolate from living things. A non-trivial amount of paint chips are still in the soil, and difficult to pick up. Aside from the living things (there are a lot) that might identify the high contrasting pieces of paint against the soil, as food, this would seem to put groundwater at risk of contamination (have attempted to contact Seattle Public Utilities).
Can someone provide me a contact who can address my concerns?
Neglecting that, is there some effective way to keep raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, and possibly pets, out of a small area? Birds would be another major concern, but that doesn't even include bees.
If it helps, I can identify who I have already attempted to contact.
