Flat’s goal is to make homeownership easy. Our services help homeowners uncover issues before they become a costly risk so you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying your home. Customers on our platform have home checkups twice a year where we maintain key elements & assess the current condition of homes, we then remove all the friction of resolving issues identified through our vendor partner marketplace. We are looking for a Canvasser to walk neighborhoods in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Apply Here: Qualifications - Have strong communication skills, a good work ethic, and a passion for human rights - Are able to work within a team, receive feedback, and work independently - Must be willing and able to approach members of the public at their place of residence in a fast paced environment, and cover a large territory each day - Must be able to meet weekly and monthly performance standards - Are comfortable walking for long periods of time - Reliable transportation to and from work What You’ll Do - Purpose: Canvass door-to-door predetermined residential areas and give information, no sales or donation requests. - Accurately collect demographic and specific information from the conversations as directed - Meet all specific minimum standards of fundraising, knocks, conversations, and any other deliverables - Arrive on time and work all scheduled shifts, as indicated on a timely-returned shift calendar - Learn and adequately deliver approved scripted language in each conversation - Walk door-to-door attempting conversation with all listed addresses, for full canvass shifts other than approved breaks - Canvass the area assigned to you each day, and do not change canvass locations unless given approval from a Director - Canvass for 5 hours and knock on at least 80 doors per shift; drop literature at every door - Average no less than quota per shift worked in any given canvass week - Have 30 - 40 conversations, acquire 3 - 5 leads, and have at least one sustainer per shift - Achieve the minimum target rates for data collection: 70% phone numbers & emails; 90% demographics; less than 5% anonymous contribution - Be respectful and courteous to every person you interact with during each shift - Conduct yourself with a positive representation in all public setting - Unprofessional comments and actions will not be tolerated - Record complete and accurate contact information and demographic data for every donor - Use the Mobile Canvasser app on your assigned tablet to record non-pledge data at each door - Carry and leave at each incomplete door literature with client information - Follow Flat Dress Code at all times - Clock-in at the beginning of each shift, and clock-out at the end of each shift on the office tablet - Adhere to all Company safety policies, as well as state and federal laws - All other duties as assigned by your supervisor - Walk outside for up to 6 hours per shift, and up to 4-5 miles per day - Lift and carry up to 10 pounds - Work outside year-round and/or in inclement weather conditions - Travel long distances or overnight if requested - Some Saturday shifts may be required, workday includes evenings (1pm-apx.9pm) - Driving or riding in car to and from office to neighborhoods to be canvassed Benefits - $15 to $20 depending on location, level of experience, and advancement - First 10 Days paid at training rate of $15 - Generous uncapped performance-based bonuses - Candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don’t match all the items - please reach out anyway!
