This fall, the whispering winds flowing near the streams come together for a unified voice of the stories within Forest Her. Join in on the journey of exploring the historical roles women have provided to their communities by using scientific forest management. All the while sharing the Next Wave of Conservation from the perspectives of private forest landowners, professional foresters, citizen foresters, and a groundbreaking conservation trailblazer. There will be a Q&A panel discussion after the film. Panelists: Anne Hairston-Strang, Ph.D., Acting State Forester, Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service Melody Starya Mobley, First African American Female Forester of the US Forest Service and STEM Educator Brenda Lee Sieglitz, Assistant Director, Making History Campaign, Senior Manager, Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. The panel moderator is Phil Rogofsky, Founder and Executive Director, Maryland STEM Festival. The producer/writer/director of the documentary is Cheryle Franceschi of Por Eco Productions. Tickets are free and made possible by The Maryland Forestry Foundation. Seating is first come, first availability. Due to the number of parking spaces, ride sharing is suggested.
