*We are an established local construction company doing high-end remodeling, new construction, and some commercial. *We need to expand our crew to handle the hurricane restoration work we are taking on. *We need helpers/laborers and forecast we will be busy for the next 5 years. * Starting pay is $18-20 per hour plus a monthly performance bonus. You can advance quickly if you have the right attitude. What you will get from us that most companies do not offer: 1. You will be working around professionals that do not cut corners. 2. If you show an aptitude for learning, you will be taught building from the ground up; the right way. We work on multimillion-dollar homes where clients expect craftsmanship, organization, and professionalism and we have very skilled craftsmen that are prepared to teach you once you prove yourself. 3. Don't waste your time making a quick buck with a fly-by-night company that won't keep you busy; we have been and are here to stay - looking for long-term employees only. 4. We only pay on payroll, not cash - paycheck every week to your bank account. 5. We value employees, knowing that we would not have a company if it weren't for them. Come work for us, show us you are a solid, reliable crew member, and you will be treated like gold. 6. We don't have egomaniacs working for us. Everyone works as a team and tries to help others succeed. 7. We are state-certified general contractors with proper insurance. Please note that many unlicensed, uninsured, underfunded contractors will be hiring and you will have no coverage if you get hurt and in many cases, you won't get paid. What we want from you: 1. Please be smart. I can't tell you how many calls I get from guys who can't communicate. You need to be above average intelligence. Again, we have high-end clients, we do high-end work, and we want to train people to become craftsmen. If you are smart but speak Spanish, that is ok. One of my partners speaks Spanish and started knowing very little English (and construction by the way), and now he is a great craftsman and a partner of our firm. 2. Be reliable. You will be wasting our time if you are not 100% reliable. We don't tolerate drama. You need good, insured transportation, a cell phone that works, and must be on time daily. Bonuses will not be handed out to anyone who is not reliable. 3. You need to have a great attitude about work. We have no time for anyone on their phone. If you don't have the attitude of getting stuck in and making things happen, you won't last a day with our company. If you are afraid of hard work or have never worked on a construction crew, this is probably not for you. 4. Absolutely no smoking, alcohol, or drugs (including pot) on our job sites. I am sure you can find plenty of companies that don't care now; please don't try to fool us; we are experts in dealing with addicts. If you smell of pot or alcohol, you will be fired. We are looking for serious employees that want to advance in their life. 5. Be a good, honest person. We have hired people who have snuck into areas of the expensive homes we work on and then have tried to steal from our clients. Unfortunately, there are some dishonest people in this world. We just don't need them working for us. This is a great time to be in SWFL and the construction business because for the next 5 years, at least, you will have job security. There is most likely going to be a bad recession, so be in an industry that needs you. Why not join a good company and learn skills you can use for the rest of your life?
