Interfaith Round Table, a Michigan-based non-profit organization focusing on building bridges of friendship among diverse faith/spiritual communities, presents its 28th annual celebration. This year's theme, "Interwoven…Building Community Connection" features inspiring speakers from various faith congregations, a service project, and music. Keynote Speakers featured are Brent B. Ward, Maum Gloria Cox, and Humza Irfan. Asha Vadlamudi from the Baha'is of Ann Arbor will read the Baha’i unity prayer. Spiritual musical performances include Mary & the Huz Band and Kath Weider & the Spirit Singing Band. Armaity Minwalla, board member of the IRT, will lead the web activity. In addition, we will be working on a community service project. Attendees are encouraged to bring some non-perishable items to donate to Food Gatherers. All are welcome to come and join the celebrations. Spaces are limited. Meet Our Amazing Speakers: Brent B. Ward- President, Ann Arbor Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Brent B. Ward completed his medical degree, residency, and fellowship at the University of Michigan, joining the faculty in 2003. He is now Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the School of Dentistry. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he served as Bishop of the Ann Arbor 1st Ward and in 2015 became President of the seven-ward Ann Arbor Stake. He and his wife Jana are the parents of six children. Maum Gloria Cox - Zen Buddhist Temple Maum Gloria Cox grew up in the rolling hills of western Iowa. When her work led her to Michigan, she came to the Zen Buddhist Temple, where her commitment to the Dharma deepened over several years. She was ordained as a lay Dharma Teacher in 2010 and then as a resident Zen Priest in 2016. With a heart of loving kindness and peaceful dedication, Maum oversees temple administration, teaches meditation classes, leads retreats, and much more. Humza Irfan - Student of Islamic sciences & President of the Muslim Students Association of NSU Humza is a junior studying in a direct-medical program in Nova Southeastern University. As a Hafiz (Memorized the Quran by heart) and a student in the Islamic sciences, he leads local initiative and prayers in various Metro Detroit communities. He currently serves as the President of the Muslim Students Association of NSU.
