Recruiting Volunteer Help to coordinate and supervise Winter Weather Shelter at the Temple VFW Post 3302 Airport Blvd 76504. Shelter Operation is scheduled for December 1, 2022 thru February 28, 2023.
Maximum guests is 200 per night providing shelter, cot and blanket, shower, wash change of clothes, dinner and breakfast. Shelter full capacity each day for the 90 days will be 18,000 servings. We need to work together to support this worthy community initiative. Will you help us?
Some volunteer workers will receive stipends and partial pay others will receive credits for volunteer service:
Recruiting 1 Shelter Coordinator -
must be available Tuesday thru Saturday 3pm - 9pm onsite 90 days good pay with volunteer hours also required. Must have some experience supervising groups large or small, good communication, writing and verbal skills and knows how to lead, and redirect and make good decisions on the go. Your objective is to help everyone working together to accomplish the mission of serving those in need successfully.
Ten group supervisors;
help supervise up to 20 people per group: Supervise 6pm - 9pm and or 6am - 9am. Superviser will oversee group in managing intake, meals, showers, volunteer work, and exit Monthly Stipend will be provided
Four LCSW Counselors rotating 100 hours per month (25 hours monthly) good pay with volunteer hours also required
Six - Overnight volunteer staff 12am - 6am: Rotate two teams of 3 every 3 evenings for 90 days = 3 nights on 3 nights off providing shelter oversight and security. Monthly stipend for reimbursement travel expense.
20 flexible schedule Volunteer Staff to donate 12 hours per week and rotate between 4pm - 7pm and 9pm - 12am
