Are you worried about your teen? Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents how to help adolescents age 12 to 18 who are experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge, or are in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a five-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD), and eating disorders. Cost: $30 per person, includes lunch and materials Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: Community Room C, Space Coast Health Foundation, Center for Collaboration, 1100 Rockledge Blvd. (US Highway 1), Rockledge, FL 32955 The workshop will be led by the staff of Lifetime Counseling Center. Full day attendance is required.
