We invite you to join the 4th Annual Polished: Women in Business conference. This is a place where you will learn from and be inspired by women like you. The event will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, and begins at 9:30 a.m. The goal of this event is allow female students and young alumni to explore career path opportunities that are waiting for them. If you are unable to attend the entire event, you may select only certain sessions as you register. Better to attend the ones you can! AGENDA 9:30 a.m. – Check-in and breakfast: Keller Building Atrium 10 a.m. -11 a.m.—Opening Keynote: Keller Building Auditorium Nikki Walker, Domo 11:15 a.m.-Noon—Breakout Session #1 (Keller Building Classrooms)-Choose One Financial Planning Track: Victoria Ferguson, CFP, Ellevest Learning How to Play Large Come learn how to confidently deliver financial advice while navigating the emotions that stem from imposter syndrome. This session will explore ways to understand work-life integration to avoid burnout and create healthy boundaries. All while building your community /network to champion you during your journey from being a student to a full-time career. Leadership Track: Melissa Lane, VP of Direct Sales, Divvy Growing as a Leader Join Mel to learn tips and tricks for growing as a leader. Attendees will learn practical ways to build confidence, maximize individual and team resources, set boundaries, and remain honest in complex environments. Regardless of where you are in your career and academic journey, you are sure to walk away with valuable insights that will enable you to lead effectively. Entrepreneurship Track: Marcella Hill, Love Woolies Trust the Journey to Success Miracles and devastation can be expected as an entrepreneur. When you learn to trust the journey, that is where success will be found. Noon-12:30: Lunch / Networking (Keller Building, 4th Floor) 12:30-1:30: Panel Discussion (Keller Building, 4th Floor) Learning How to Summit: UVU Alumni: Jamaica Chirstensen Martin (Eddy), Aleksa Porter (Wander Maps), Diane Acevedo (Gabb Wireless)This panel discussion will walk you through the next steps in your career potential. Our alumnae will share actionable ways they expanded their career opportunities. Their first-hand UVU student experience transitioning to full-time employment will be immensely helpful as you take the same journey. Bring your questions for the panelists. 1:45 p.m. -2:30: Breakout Session #2 (Keller Building Classrooms)-Choose One Financial Planning Track: Morgan McGovern and Cece Marshall, BNY Mellon | Pershing Making it in the Real World This session will cover the first five years post-graduation, how to be successful by avoiding burnout, creating a network of supporters, and continuing to learn. Leadership Track: Jami McFarland, Head of Customer Success, Adobe Leveraging Communication and Relationship Building as Stepping Stones to Success Communication and relationship building are two key components to your success as a leader. Communication, both written and verbal, impacts your personal brand and perception of your professionalism. The relationships you build will often aid you on your journey to success, whether finding a new job or launching a new project.
