Description
We are a free soccer league, open to men (Seriously, why would anyone pay to play soccer anyway?). We range in age from 40 to even older. All ability levels are welcome. As long as you can kick the ball and run, of course. Some players used to be good and others were never any good. But we don't care. British-style sportsmanship is expected and enforced. However, we are very competitive and want to win. If you get injured, that's your problem (sorry, but it's true). It can be a dangerous sport, so be prepared and make sure you have insurance. Newcomers are welcome. In fact, we don't have enough members yet, so newcomers are required. When the weather is nice we will play. We play every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM assuming it’s not raining heavily, snowing, etc. If it gets popular and people want to play more we might create a weeknight session. Please make sure you RSVP for a game. Each team will have 3 subs that have to be rotated every 5 minutes. In other words, no player will ever wait longer than 5 minutes to get on the field, unless they don’t want to go on for some reason. And, if you do even more math, no player should stay on more than 20 minutes, or less than 15 minutes, in a row. All players need to make sure they bring one red shirt and one white shirt to every game. If we can’t find a field with soccer goals then someone will have to bring portable goals. And if we don’t have portable goals then we will put down jerseys or cones. If you are a show-off or poser, or just very good at soccer, then you might need to play down a bit. Unless, of course, we are all really good then you can go ahead and show off. Bring water. Wear shin pads. However, I’m not going to force you. 90 minute game (2x45 minutes) with a 10 minute halftime break. We play 12 per side (with 3 subs per side). Therefore the total number of players per side is 15.
