A proposition will be on the ballot in Southampton and East Hampton towns this November to ask voters to approve adding a half-percent tax to most real estate transactions to finance affordable housing initiatives. A panel of experts, including both towns’ supervisors, will detail how the funds will be used if the proposition passes.
This Express Sessions lunch event about plans for the proposed Community Housing Fund in Southampton and East Hampton towns has been moved to Friday, October 14. The event will still run from noon to 2 pm at Union Sushi & Steak, just one day later.
The event was originally scheduled for Thursday, October 13, but a change was necessary when it was announced that services for former Southampton Town Police Chief Steven Skyrnecki would be held on the same day.
