Description

Join us on Sunday, October 16th from 10:30 to 12 noon for a tour and bouquet making workshop with Karla DeLong at Beeline Blooms family flower farm in Ben Lomond. Karla & her familys property was severly burned by the CZU fire. In the summer of 2020 the CZU Lightning Complex Fire burned more than 80,000 acres, led to the evacuation of more than 60,000 people and the destruction of over 900 homes. As devistating as the fire was, as the saying goes, “In order to rise from its own ashes, a Phoenix first must burn.” in this case we're talking dahlias and what an amazing transformation of the land into a flowering mecca of hope and inspiration. Many of Karla's flowers are given to fire victims who lost their homes or just need something to coax the beauty back into their lives that was burnt in the fire. Most people who live in the San Lorenzo Valley know Karla from Mountain Feed & Farm Supply in Ben Lomond where she has hosted numerous educational classes on everything from home canning to bee keeping and beyond! I've enjoyed watching many of Karlas videos over the years and am so happy to help her rebuild her property into the beautiful dahlia haven it has become. All proceeds go to the CZU Fire fund to rebuild the historic Alba School House building that burnt to the ground. I'm excited to help promote this beautiful "rising from the ashes" effort to restore our community! The workshop is $40 each / 2 for $60 and includes a bouquet with glass vase, farm snackes and beverages surrounded by blooming dahlias. Children age12 & under are welcome for $5 each with paying adult. Children age 4 & under are free.
