This month's luncheon will dive into the impact on the local economies due the influx of the Hispanic/Spanish speaking community — which also carries over to the rise in minority owned businesses. Our guest speakers are Mr. Gil Staley and Mrs. Laura Lea Palmer. Gil Staley has been with The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership since 2005 and serves as Chief Executive Officer. In this position, he is responsible for recruiting new businesses to The Woodlands area as well as directing the business retention and expansion program. Gil also oversees the operational aspects of the EDP while maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. Laura Lea Palmer began her career in Economic Development in 2011. She is currently the Deputy Director for Conroe Economic Development Council. In this role Laura Lea is responsible for recruiting new business to the greater Conroe area and marketing the City and its assets to national and international prospects.
