Description

I moved to Asheville in 2009 for school, played bass/guitar/vocal in two bands, and got disenchanted with the "scene" (or lack of one). Spent the past ten years writing a book about philosophy of religion while working different day jobs. Now I feel I've said and read about all I can about intellectual things and the pendulum is swinging back toward sweet songs. I've started writing some songs unintentionally over the past couple years, and they could use some workshopping and accompaniment before I make any definitive recordings. But I'm equally interested in just playing covers with like-minded or compatible folks looking to make friends. 33yr old guy who works full time, so this would likely be a weekend unwind sort of get together. My taste gravitates toward a weird blend of experimental dad-rock and what spot*fy calls "modern eclectic" sort of quirky indy songwriting. Big fan of Stereolab, Aldous Harding, Sharon van Etten, Sharon Jones, Yo la Tengo, old Shins, De la Soul, Sea and Cake, Pavement, Daniel Romano, Aaron Freeman, and grew up learning guitar to folk songs, classical, jazz (George Benson, Miles), Zappa, Phish (studio albums). https://soundcloud.com/theseanze
