8 years I've been living with my mom and sisters. I got my degree in IT and then got divorced, then had to move back with my mom. It's been a good living situation for a long time. My mom is getting older so she needs help and so do I. I have Schizophrenia and my mom has been my support system for 15+ years. Over the years I've felt somewhat mistreated and taken advantage of. There have been many times when I have needed mental health help and there were no beds or counselors available. It seems like during the pandemic many psychological health practitioners quit practicing. I have been in crisis many times in the past. One time I self-harmed and could have needed my arm amputated if they hadn't drained it. Now I kind of want to move out on my own again but I'm on SSI and every place is too expensive or doesn't accept smokers. I'm just mad at the system I live in, that's all. What can be done about this? Any suggestions?
