This is the 23rd annual Stand Down that provides free services to all veterans. The event opens at 9:00 a.m. in the Sun Dome at State Fair Park, 1301 South Fair Avenue, Yakima. This event is for all Veterans and their immediate family. We will provide over 100 services and opportunities to connect with resources. We have also added a Career Fair component for those seeking employment. We have secured the entire Sun Dome to better serve veterans of any era. There will be Federal, State, and Community Agencies providing information and assistance. “Organizations and businesses that provide services to veterans will be available with employment assistance, free haircuts, VA healthcare enrollment, dental services, post-traumatic stress counseling, and VA disability claims processing”, said David Brown, event organizer. There will also be housing assistance, clothing available for veterans and their families and Veteran Service Organizations. Other key services will include hot lunch; not to mention the camaraderie with fellow veterans. Come recognize and appreciate our local heroes and their families!
