Returning from tour! Goalie Fight: Founded in a storage space in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Goalie Fight began as a solo project that quickly morphed into something bigger. When he was kicked back to New Jersey, lead singer Mark Dempsey put together a band for the ages. Equally influenced by the indie rock explosion of the early '00s, the emo revivalist movement of the early 10s, and the magpie tendencies of post-punk, they burn hot and bright with an intense live show. Their most recent single, "Shineshoe", was featured on WFUV's New York Slice and WRAT's Jersey Rock. possum in my room: possum in my room is the mysterious lo-folk project of Ted Orbach, better known as the drummer of Morris County art rock trio Skytop Motel. His warped, low-fidelity diy recordings carry with them the artifacts of heartbreak and vintage digital recording technology. His arrangements evoke the thick brine of the Maine coastline that inspires his songwriting. His debut album Acadie: Songs from Vacationland came out in 2020, and his most recent single "gleaming" came out in July. Jack Flowers and the Petal Tones: Jack Powers and his brother formed a band to play his solo material he had been accumulating while he was a student at Montclair State University. Their electric stage presence and retro-indie feel has transformed them into a campus fixture and they have been keeping a steady pace of gigs off campus, transcending the "student band" label into something more vital. Their debut album is expected in the winter of 2023. Big Stink: Fuzzy, chaotic, bracingly bluesy.
