Hi! My name is Luna, a 5-year old rescued Chihuahua. I am a “good" girl (well behaved and loved dearly by all who have met me). My human (Mom) takes me everywhere – work, shopping, traveling, I am her support animal where ever she goes I go. Mom sets a great example working 2 jobs to make ends meet to support her daughter and me. Many times she puts herself last to make certain we have what we need. Lately I have been struggling to keep pace because of my health condition. I have been taking costly meds and 24 hour monitoring for almost a year now- It's been a long time since I've played and had fun but being close to my Mom and all the people at her jobsites is a true blessing as I'm often very sick. My pace is much slower than before… got a bit chunky from all the meds and now I snore in my sleep. Now don’t get fouled, I can still protect my food dish, my favorite spot and my humans. I see my Mom crying and worried about how she will come up with the money required for this surgery. I need your help to wipe my Mom's tears by contributing to my operation. She has had many conversations with me…I know she can’t afford this added expense on top of everything else but…I do know she wants desperately to give me the best life possible and it breaks her heart to see me suffering. I know I'll be deaf and that is a little scary but my mom will guide me and love me as she always has. Thank you for reading my story and thank you in advance for any contributions. Luna has been diagnosed with Atopic dermatitis. It wasn’t until recently, after getting connected to an actual specialist that we identified the cause of her consistent ear infections. This, although hard to say, indicates that her condition was not properly identified or managed and has resulted in severe infection and tissue overgrowth. We made every attempt to save her ears but the damage is irreversible. Luna needs an ablation of both of her canals and yes, this will cause her to be deaf. Luna is a healthy dog aside from her current condition and I have no doubt she will have a fulfilled life despite the loss of hearing.
