Description
Approximately one year old, solid black. He is from show lines and is a big, robust boy. He's great about being picked up/handled, is very food motivated, and is pretty quiet for a guinea pig - no midnight wheeking. He tolerates baths, nail trims, and the occasional oil rub with zero issues. He's not territorial, doesn't chew the cage bars, comes to the door for snacks and pets, and is generally pretty eager to interact with people. He's completely unphased by dogs of all sizes and household noises.
The caveat?
Unfortunately, he is VERY aggressive with other guinea pigs and has ripped open every male I've tried him with, including very young babies and a neutered male, to the point where stitches have been required.
Because of this, he needs to either be in a home where he is the only pig or where he can be adjacent to *but not able to make contact with* other pigs. Alternatively, neutering may help since this is (most likely) entirely hormonal.
I've tried to integrate him for six months now, and I just don't have the space to keep him completely separate from my other boys (or the money to keep having my boys stitched up.) I think he would be just fine as a solo pig since he doesn't seem to enjoy the company of other pigs at all regardless of how much space they have.
If you feel like you might be a good fit for him, please tell me a bit about yourself, your pig experience, and what sort of life you could give him. I do not have an appropriate cage for him, but he will go to his new home with some basics.
