Description
Year old leopard tortoise in need of a new zip code. We need to downsize our collection. Leopard tortoises are not easy to find.
This little tortoise has tremendous color with lots of white showing as it grows. The pictures don't show the true beauty of this little one. It is a great eater of organic spring salad mix with shredded vegetables served in a small, shallow dish it can climb in/out of. It needs heat and UVB, of course, along with a turtle appropriate substrate. It likes fake plants to hide within along with a hide (like we use for a bearded dragon). Its also needs a shallow dish big enough for it to soak in with clean water.
It motors around great and is used to living with other tortoises or land turtles of similar size. It is very social and personable.
We are guessing it is female due to the flat shape of the plastron (belly) and short tail.
Experienced turtle keepers only. Care is similiar to a wood turtle due to its young age, where soaking daily with a moist area of substrate is best because of Colorado's dry climate. This helps the shell grow in a smooth way to help avoid pyramiding of the scutes (the segments of the shell).
Asking $300.00. No lowball offers. No trades.
