Two Yearling Central American Wood Turtles

Description

Two yearling Central American Wood Turtles need new home. They are captive bred and we have had them about a year. They are much more colorful than the pictures show. Their legs and underbelly have lots of red and the upper shell is showing orange and yellow coloring. They get more colorful as they get older. If baby ones were too colorful in the wild, they would get eaten! They are vegetarians, eating organic spring salad mix, with shredded summer squash, carrots, some shredded apples, etc. They will eat a very small percentage of small bugs, worms, etc. in their diet. They are land animals but need a water dish they can soak in. They are NOT water turtles, they will drown if you keep in a full aquarium. They need UVB light, heat lamp and a simple tortoise-type substrate with some potting soil and coconut fiber in it. These turtles like one area of their enclosure to be moist, but not swampy. They like to dig, so make the substrate deep enough to dig and hide under it. Artificial plants can create hides, too. These guys are fun and colorful. We need to downsize so we are looking for a good home for them. Experienced reptile keepers only. Asking $150 for both of them. No lowball offers. Will not sell separately. They need to go together, as these two have always lived together and are social animals and should stay together.
