Hello! I am a recent arrival in Portland looking to get a new musical project going. I have been in a number of more traditional rock groups and with this project, I would like to move away from that towards more angular, experimental territory - Swell Maps, This Heat, Supreme Dicks, stuff like that. Noise is not the objective, but welcome as part of a larger arrangement. I absolutely want the songwriting to be collaborative, with us recording jams and finding cool textures and approaches in them rather than composing sections in advance. I can play guitar, fake playing the bass, and hit a drum, and have a notorious reputation for taking on vocal duties when no one else steps up. I do not yet have a practice space, but I anticipate having one in a few week's time; once I have that locked down, we'll have a drumkit and a few amps to use if we so desire. I drink beer and smoke pot; I don't really want to work with anyone who is railing coke all the time, but you do you as long as you have things under control and it doesn't compromise your performance.
