Flooring Apprentice JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY The Flooring Apprentice is an entry level member of our team that will learn, or enhance their skills, in the trade of floor installation, from the widest selection of carpet, tile, ceramic, LVT/LVP or wood flooring products. This role requires the ability to learn how to prepare various surfaces for installation and install floor coverings based off of the manufacturer's guidelines while working with our valued customers in alignment with the organizational goals. PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES Learn, or enhance, ability to prepare various surfaces for installation Learn, or enhance, ability to install carpet, tile, ceramic, LVT/LVP or wood flooring products Passionate about delivering a great customer experience Can complete assigned work in a timely manner Availability to work weekends Learn how to coordinate with project managers to ensure seamless project delivery experience Manage an organized work area in a neat, clean, and organized manner Maintain professional relationships with their mentors, homeowners, business owners, builders, and worksite team members KEY COMPETENCIES The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability an individual needs to possess or enhance, yet are not necessarily all-inclusive Ability to take direction well, absorb and retain information, and handle constructive criticism and highlighted errors, in a professional manner. Outstanding attention to detail and time management Excellent customer service skills Well-organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities A proactive approach to problem-solving Ability to thrive in an environment of change and growth EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience in the field of flooring and/or construction preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate.
