Abigail Gardens, a fine-gardening service, is looking for motivated people to add to our team. Abigail Gardens designs, installs, and maintains some of the finest gardens in Charlottesville. We place a special focus on annuals, perennials, ornamental trees and shrubs, containers, and fine pruning. We offer our clients an organic, customized, and thoughtful approach to beautifying their outdoor spaces. Our ideal candidate is organized, works efficiently, and has a sense of humor! While some horticultural knowledge is desired, we are willing to train the right person. Please know that this is a very physical job; we bend, carry, dig, and heave all day, and please be okay with outdoor plumbing only. We place a high value on teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively, and ability to learn quickly. We work Monday-Friday, between 6-8 hours a day. We are currently looking for full-time employees to invest in. New hires can be eligible for a raise as soon as one-month after their hire date, commensurate with becoming a lead gardener. After working with us for six months, we encourage and pay for all employees to become state-certified horticulturists through the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association.
