Description

Meet "Oreo"...This sweet rescued boy has had a VERY hard life so far! He was found by a good Samaritan trying to cross a busy road looking for food. He was starving, bones, anemic, in horrible condition when I got him. He was roughly 8 weeks old, but only 598g...He was all skeleton, skin, and fur. He had absolutely no strength in his weak body when I got him. Oreo was originally brought to me on 9/12. Since being in my care he's gained LOTS of healthy weight. He's gained confidence. He's been seen at the ER Vet, and my regular vet 3 times. He's been dewormed, he's had lots of treatment for severe fleas. He's negative for diseases, he was fully tested by my vet. Oreo is going to be a special needs kitten for a few months. Due to severe poor health, he will be getting at home treatment for hair loss. He's been fully quarantined from other rescues. He's negative for mites. He will need baths twice per week to help his fur grow back. He's put on 2 pounds since I've gotten him. He has anxiety and a fear of his food being taken away, so he scarfs it down. Oreo will need a patient person for grooming. He's long haired and he gets mats. He had Lots of mats in his fur when he first came here. But he's completely different now. Oreo is fully cat litter box trained. He's on a special diet to maintain healthy weight growth. I feed him either Iams kitten pate or blue buffalo every 5 hours. He also is free fed hard kitten food. Oreo has had over $600+ worth of vet care in only 1 month. But he was worth it. I have him scheduled for neutering in November, after his health continues to improve. If he's not adopted, I still plan to do his treatment myself, get him healthy. I just know there is someone out there that would fall in love with him. I'm also looking for a specific kind of home, with low stress. Oreos adoption fee is $80 and prepay for his neuter of $50. This guy has had tons of tests, so I know he'll be a healthy companion as he grows. Oreos ER vet bill was emailed to me, I don't have a print out of it. But I will try to get that paperwork printed before he goes into a new home. Thank you and God bless!
