Just a thought! Let’s give the US Congress a permanent recess…. Decentralize Congress. Let each member stay home, work out of their local office; employ local staff; read each bill before voting electronically. Constitution requires them to meet once a year but the rest of the time, let them stay in community in which they serve and better understand American’s concerns. Decentralizing Congress would make lobbying difficult if not impossible. Corporate Lobbyist and Advocates would have to go to 535 different locations to get the views heard. Of course, none of existing Congress members would like the idea as it would spoil their “gravy train”..
