The event will feature an authentic southern sit-down dinner complete with smoked brisket, chicken and pulled pork and all the fixins’. After dinner, save room for dessert; there will be a delicious dessert auction! Then you’ll want to kick up your boots to the Myles Wangerin Band when they bring their country charm to the stage. Guaranteed to be the most entertaining event of the year, with proceeds from this year’s event directed to the newly developed Patient Services Fund. Much has happened since the onset of COVID, and we have all been trying to navigate the “new normal”. Some changes have been easier than others. Healthcare has seen significant change and the Foundation has recognized the overwhelming need for increased patient assistance. It’s been a little over a year since the Wound Clinic opened inside the Aspirus Merrill Hospital. Many patients coming through the doors are experiencing hardship and COVID has only exacerbated it. The patient has insurance to cover the treatments but can’t afford the medications and supplies needed at home that could significantly help them heal and return to their everyday lives. Perhaps the patient has transportation but can’t afford the gas to travel back and forth for treatment. Imagine having a chronic wound but foregoing the necessary treatment plan because choosing between paying the rent or providing food for their family takes precedence. The Harvest Festival event will focus on raising funds in support of the Patient Services Fund, so people in our community can receive the proper medical attention they may have forgone without your help.
