Museum in Mind is an ongoing program designed for individuals with early-stage memory loss or dementia and their caregivers. This month we will explore artist Andrea Joyce Heimer’s exhibition Holy Mountain. Inspired by the Montana landscape, Heimer’s paintings are a meditation on loneliness and how she has regained a connection with nature throughout the pandemic. Through a group discussion, we’ll work together to unpack some of Heimer’s autobiographical paintings. Then we’ll head upstairs to the art studio to create our own meaningful landscapes using oil pastels, a material featured in Heimer’s artworks.
Registration includes both the participant and their caregiver. There are 8 spots available with a max of 16 people with caregivers.
This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the Fund Three Pines Foundation and KBF Canada.
