This is a panel presentation with Hon. Lisa E. Rubenstein, Rhinebeck Town Court, Moderator and panelists Hon. Rebecca Mensch, Beacon City Court and Hon. Jonah Triebwasser, Red Hook Town and Village CourtThis course will provide tips for attorneys on maintaining a successful law practice in local Justice and City Courts. You will learn the nuts and bolts of how Town and Village Justice Courts, and City Courts function from a judicial perspective. Presenters will discuss differences between litigation in the local Courts and New York State Supreme Court, rules of practice for both civil actions and criminal prosecutions, the mechanics of how a case progresses in these courts, and best practices. Lunch will be provided including choice of pulled pork, honey chicken or veggie burgers, soft drinks, dessert, coffee and tea.
