The 7th Annual Athens MLK Jr. Day Parade and Music Festival is brought to you by the United Group of Artists Music Association (UGAMA) and partnering non-profit Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM).
The goal is to promote culture, diversity, inclusion within our community, and to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Music Fest and activities begin 12-5pm on Monday, January 16th, 2023
What to expect:
12noon. Open to the general public. Includes live music, Fun Zone with inflatables, rides and outdoor youth activities.
3PM The parade will begin. The Parade will begin and end on the corner of Hull and Washington street.
Main stage (outdoor): include live performances
Spectators: you can watch the parade on Clayton Street, College Ave. and Washington Street (from City Hall to the Morton Theatre).
The Athens Anti-Movement (AADM) has been a vital force in promoting the philosophies and goals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Athens-Clarke County community by advocating for equal justice, opportunity, and economic advancement for all.
Seasoned event producers and power-couple, Knowa and Mokah-Jasmine Johnson has been a leading force in helping to stimulate the urban culture within Athens, Georgia; in addition to diversifying Athens music scene and Downtown area by producing live music shows and community events such as music shows the Athens Hip Hop Awards, Athens in Harmony, and the Athens MLK Day Jr. Parade and much more
