Flowline Alaska, Inc. is currently hiring for an entry-level full-time QA/QC person. Basic Job description: Position will entail monitoring and reporting on processing of manufactured value-added services to pipe which is coated and insulated at the facility. Work areas will be in both manufacturing facility and laboratory. Successful candidate will be trained to company’s quality program, with the possibility of future accreditation towards national standard coating inspector training. Computer use is required for tracking daily test data, laboratory processing and pipe tracking. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform QC inspections (“walkthroughs”) of coating and insulation application processes: • Use manual and electronic instrumentation to gather data • Report data using paper and electronic methods • Collect daily physical samples from various raw materials, manufactured products, machinery, at different locations on site • Identify and investigate quality control issues; work with QC Manager and other Flowline staff to resolve issues • Requires working in a production factory environment - near heavy equipment, plant machinery, and in adverse weather conditions Perform laboratory testing of coating and insulation samples • Complete analytical tests with attention to detail and accuracy of results • Requires some work with laboratory chemicals and destructive mechanical testing processes • Report lab results using paper and electronic methods • Work closely with QC Manager to investigate testing issues Monitor electronic pipe traceability • Inspect and verify pipe identification information, cross-check information to database • Assist with resolving identification issues • Other database entry and editing tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS & BENEFITS: • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office • Math Skills, attention to detail • NACE Level 1, 2 or 3 certifications are a plus • Full time 40 hours per week with flexibility for overtime as required by projects. • Position located in Fairbanks, Alaska (Flowline facility sites) • Health insurance • 401k after a year Please submit resume with 3 professional references.
